Graduated as an agricultural engineer at the Institut Agro - Agrocampus Ouest, Pierre arrives as a PhD student in the BIOEPAR unit. He is interested in the themes of One Health (in particular antibiotic resistance) and One Welfare. His thesis project aims to develop innovative methods for monitoring biosecurity in pig farming. This thesis project is part of the European project HealthyLivestock. The objectives of the project are (1) to monitor over time the results of farming practices and measures implemented in terms of biosecurity and (2) to search for biomarkers for the early detection of biosecurity defects. These two objectives are part of the process of reasoning the use of antibiotics in swine breeding. It is supervised by : Christine Fourichon, Catherine Belloc and Mily Leblanc-Maridor.
