Covid-19: Measuring the immune response to better detect the virus

In the context of the current crisis linked to the SARS-Cov2 virus, responsible for the Covid-19 disease, François Meurens, Professor of Immunology at BIOEPAR, brings his expertise on the subject to the readers of Ouest France.

In this article, he describes the interest of the contributions of epidemiological studies on farm animals, and draws a parallel with the crises that have occurred in animal health (avian influenza, African swine fever...). It also details the differences between types of tests, and the need to test the immune response in order to know who has been in contact with the virus, and not only who is sick.
