The first French MOOC

The first French MOOC dedicated to "farm animal welfare" soon available

Contribution of one of the centre's units to the first French MOOC dedicated to "farm animal welfare".

Taking into account the welfare of farm animals, evaluating and improving it is becoming a necessity for all stakeholders: farmers, veterinarians, livestock workers, citizens...

This new MOOC is for anyone who wants to better understand farm animal welfare. It consists of three modules:

  • Understanding the concept of animal welfare
  • Assessing welfare in farming situations
  • Improving well-being

These modules have been developed by an educational team of teacher-researchers, researchers and farm animal welfare veterinarians. In this respect, Raphaël Guatteo, teacher-researcher at the UMR Inra-Oniris BIOEPAR and specialist in cattle health management, was particularly involved in the evaluation and improvement modules.
