Development of new bioinformatics and genetic tools to measure tick dispersal on a landscape scale

To understand the spread of tick-borne pathogens and the dispersion of these vectors, it is essential to take into account the heterogeneity of the environment.

Using bioinformatics tools, we have developed nearly 400 SNPs markers from the genome of Ixodes ricinus. Analysis of their variability reveals significant gene flow between tick populations at the landscape scale.
