The spread of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus (CCHFV) depends mainly on temperature and hare density and can be controlled by early and repeated acaricidal treatments of cattle.

Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a re-emerging zoonotic disease in Turkey, mainly transmitted by the tick Hyalomma marginatum. The infection cycle involves wild (hares) and domestic (cattle) reservoir hosts. A model coupling tick population dynamics and infection showed the efficacy of acaricide use combined with a decrease in hare density.
