Sébastien Assié graduated from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse in 1997 and received a PhD degree in 2004 from the University of Rennes. He became diplomate from the European College of Bovine Health Management in 2008. He worked for 4 years as a contractual Assistant Professor, Section of farm animal medicine, in the National Veterinary School of Nantes and from now as an Associate Professor. He teaches bovine medicine and surgery. He’s the head of the hospital for bovines. He’s involved in research programs on the epidemiology of production disease in beef herds, mainly on respiratory disease. His research focused on: (1) the early and sensitive detection of cattle suffering from BRD, (2) the transmission dynamics of cases and pathogens involved in BRD and (3) the risk factors involved in the apparition of BRD.
