I defended my PhD (MontpellierSupAgro & Univ. Montpellier) in Integrative Biology in 2002. I was recruited in 2003 as an INRAE permanent researcher in BIOEPAR, Nantes, France. With skills in mechanistic modelling, animal epidemiology, and population dynamics, my researches focus on better understanding and predicting the multi-scale spread of pathogens and the spatio-temporal dynamics of host and vector populations. I obtained my HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Research) in 2010. Research director since 2015, I lead the DYNAMO team, composed of BIOEPAR modellers. From 2012 to 2017, I coordinated an Investissements d'Avenir project (www.inrae.fr/mihmes/) involving INRAE, Oniris, ANSES, INRIA, IRMAR, and a team from the Swedish Veterinary Institute (SVA). I contributed to the development of two software packages dedicated to health managers that each received an innovation award (Innov'Space 2015 & 2016). I led an international modelling challenge on African swine fever (ASF Challenge). I was also responsible for workpackages in 5 national research projects, dealing with livestock trade movements, vector population dynamics, epidemic dynamics of vector-borne diseases, and prioritisation of infectious animal disease control strategies. Since 2021, I am co-leading the WP2 in the H2020 DECIDE project (https://decideproject.eu/) which focuses on the development of modelling tools for data-based management and prioritisation of endemic contagious animal diseases in Europe. Since May 2023, I am co-leading the Horizon Europe WiLiMan-ID project (ecology of wildlife, livestock, human and infectious diseases in changing environments) and I am leading the WP on interactions among pathogens, hosts, vectors and the environment: role in infectious diseases emergence, spread and persistence. Furthermore, I co-organised the two editions of the "Modelling in Animal Health" conference (2017, 2021). I also train many students (PhD, Master, etc.) and contribute to higher and continuing education in my field of expertise. Finally, I am the author of more than 90 scientific articles and full conference papers.
