Nora Navarro-Gonzalez (DVM, PhD) has been an assistant professor in Poultry and Fish Husbandry and Health at the Nantes Atlantic National College of Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Engineering, since September 2017. Initially she pursued her education in Spain, where she received a degree in Veterinary Medicine (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, 2008), an MSc in Wildlife Management and Health (Universidad de Murcia, 2009) and a PhD in Animal Health and Medicine (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, 2013).

To gain scientific expertise and expand her horizons, she decided to obtain postdoctoral research experience at the University of Calgary (Canada) and the University of California – Davis (USA).  Since 2009, she has been engaged in research on zoonotic pathogens and antimicrobial resistance in wildlife, domestic animals and the environment.  She is author of numerous research articles, book chapters and conference communications. Her current research interests include the role of aquaculture as origin and reservoir of antimicrobial resistance in fish pathogens and environmental bacteria. In her spare time, she loves wildlife watching, hiking and climbing.
