Manon’s passion is to improve animal health and food-safety conditions for the benefit of both consumers and producers. She is back in France after 10 years spent in London where she trained as a vet at the Royal Veterinary College and worked in clinics for a few years.

During her first years in practice she developed a deep awareness of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its challenges. A first-hand experience that led her back to the RVC to obtain an MSc in One Health in 2020. Following her MSc, she worked for the department of Public Health, Environment and Society at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, splitting her time between clinical practice and a research project looking at AMR in food crops.

She joined BIOEPAR in November, keen to bring together her common interests in both animal and human health. She is starting a PhD linking economy and epidemiology, under the supervision of Pauline Ezanno and Arnaud Rault. She will study the beef-calf industry, looking to find possible leverage points to reduce antimicrobial usage without jeopardising the balance between health and economy within the industry.
