Coordinate to better control

Controlling infectious animal diseases often requires coordinated management action because individual decisions impact on the local health situation and that of contact farms. To identify an incentive system that adapts to the epidemiological situation and minimises the collective economic impact, a mathematical model has been proposed that determines the optimal incentive policy. This policy is based on a very large number of rules. It is summarized by a simple and evolving action plan to make it readable and usable in practice. This approach can be applied to any health disorder for which collective management is relevant. The action plan is a decision-making tool for collective health managers.
