Topal Mahir

With more than twenty years of experience in IT, mainly within the French Ministry of Education and the higher education and research sector, Mahir TOPAL has progressed from operational roles (technical support and IT infrastructure management) to positions focused on systems and network administration, cybersecurity, and project management.

 He contributed to the modernization of the Nantes Rectorate's IT infrastructure, notably through the national PHAC project (Academic Hosting Platform), involving the migration of more than 750 virtual servers to a national data center, as well as through the security of key services such as DNS and academic messaging, in line with ANSSI recommendations.

 Previously, he contributed to the digital transformation of high schools through the “Mon Ordi au Lycée” program, a regional initiative in the Pays de la Loire region providing every student entering upper secondary school with a laptop, with an annual deployment of 48,000 devices.

 He also managed technical teams at the Regional Council and contributed to strengthening the IT security of CROUS Nantes as Deputy Information Systems Security Officer (Deputy ISSO).

 His areas of expertise include Active Directory, virtualization, firewalls, and IT infrastructure monitoring.
